What "modded" should mean
A real mod changes the controller's hardware so it performs better and lasts longer. The mods that matter attack the DualSense's two genuine weaknesses: sticks that drift and triggers that are slow. Everything else — LEDs, shells, grip — is about feel and looks, which is fine, as long as it's not sold as performance.

Stock DualSense sticks wear out by design — two wipers dragging across a resistive strip until it scores and drifts. TMR (Tunneling Magnetoresistance) sticks read position magnetically with zero contact, so there's nothing to wear. This is the single most important mod a PS5 controller can have.
